The Space Between I 20 × 24 Original oil on linen, framed
This painting began as an exploration of pause — the quiet interval between one heartbeat and the next. The spaces between the forms felt as important as the fruit themselves. As I rest into this season, I just keep thinking about what happens in the waiting, in the unseen work of becoming.
This pair of two paintings reflect the beauty of pause-the Japanese concept of "ma". The ma is the breath moments between growth.
