I painted this on location in Combloux, looking straight at Mont Blanc. The scale of it is hard to explain—it takes up the whole sky. The light kept shifting across the snow and rock, and I tried to capture that movement with thick, broken brushstrokes and cool tones.
I wasn’t aiming for a perfect likeness—more just the feeling of standing there, taking it all in. There’s something quiet and steady about that mountain. I leaned into the blues and let the shapes lead the way.
