I wanted to see what would happen if I quieted the color and let value carry the weight. Light and shadow. Form emerging through contrast rather than saturation.
I’m drawn to how restraint can still hold emotion. How a quieter palette can create depth, structure, and a kind of steady tension.
In some ways, the line becomes even more essential here. When color steps back, structure must step forward. And I guess I love this about the tonal series, even when color is gone and things look shadowed, we are still held.
